Soul Sound
Therapy
Harmonise your wellbeing
Hello

I'm Katy, a Sound Therapist currently studying with the British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST). I create sound bath sessions in and around Bishops Stortford to help relax the body, mind and soul.
BAST have been refining their technique since 1994. The method that we use has been shown to improve health and wellbeing by using certain instruments in specific ways. A soundbath with reflection is a more focussed way of working than a regular relaxation session and enables us to be able to work on something specific, or gain insight into a particular situation that is the cause of resistance in our lives. The therapeautic sound and reflective technique work together to maximise the therapeutic effect. The reflective technique we use is known as the '7Rs Method of Experiential Processing'. The '7Rs' helps us to look at our lives and our health, or symptoms, in more depth.
What is Sound Therapy?

Sounds that we hear and feel, can move mind and body, alter consciousness and allow us to drift into a deep state of relaxation.
If you have ever been to a concert and felt the pulse of the bass travel through you, you will have experienced sympathetic resonance on the physical level. This happens because deeper sounds resonate more closely with the physical body, and can help to relax physical discomfort such as pain or tension. Following the BAST method, we are able to affect the physical, emotional and mental levels of being using different sounds in different ways. I help my clients have a deeper relationship with themselves, and develop strategies to improve health and wellbeing by understanding which levels of being we are experiencing resonance, resistance and release.
There are so many benefits to health and wellbeing that can be achieved with therapeutic sound and music including reduced stress, anxiety, muscle tension and physical pain as well as an increased sense of wellbeing and positive mood.
As part of a Professional Diploma in Group Sound Therapy with The British Academy of Sound Therapy I am calling for people to take part in Soundbaths and Soundscapes.
Space is limited so please contact me for further information on the dates, times and places of the different sessions I am running. All you need to do is attend the session, and give some feedback which will go towards my final case study portfolio.
My instruments

CRYSTALINE SINGING BOWLS
Crystal singing bowls have a pure sound. They can be very uplifting, and are gentle but powerful. They can help to open and stretch the system and are deeply relaxing.

SUN AND WIND GONGS
The gong is a strong, powerful instrument. The swelling sound of the gong raises expectancy, facilitates release, helping to relax the muscles.

HIMALAYAN SINGING BOWLS
These lovely bowls are warm and richly harmonic. They are nurturing, soothing, and are used to give a sonic cuddle. The sonic signature is calming, relaxing and peaceful.
